Membership Application

If you have read and agree to the conditions stated below you may apply for membership online right now. Please note the distinction between Residential Electronic Systems Professional "Provisional" membership and "Full" membership, which is described below. If you have questions, you may email CEDIA Member Services. If you're not ready to join but want to stay abreast of upcoming CEDIA events and educational offerings, add yourself to the CEDIA mailing list.

Upon submission of your application, you will immediately receive your CEDIA username and password via email. Use this username and password to register anyone from your company at member rates. Your CEDIA membership could pay for itself within just a few minutes!

Note: Companies in Zones 1 and 4 (click here for a Zone map in a new window) should contact their local Zone Headquarters for applications - you will find links to Zones 1 and 4 information in the upper left of the CEDIA home page.

Below are the CEDIA membership types and requirements.


A. Company membership is extended to Residential Electronic Systems Professional Provisional membership level or Residential Electronic Systems Professional Full membership level of custom electronic systems, subject to the following conditions:

Provisional Membership Level:



Applicant must comply with all applicable state, local and/or regional licensing requirements. Copies of current licenses must accompany this application (mail or fax them to CEDIA Headquarters, Attn: Membership, 7150 Winton Drive, Suite 200, Indianapolis, IN 46268, Fax: 317-735-4012).


U.S. and Canada-based applicants must provide direct proof of General Liability Insurance in the amount of $1,000,000, showing CEDIA as the CERTIFICATE HOLDER with 10 days notice of cancellation. (Your insurance agent or broker can help you with this. This document can be faxed to CEDIA Headquarters at (317) 735-4012.) Companies based outside of the U.S. and Canada must provide proof of insurance as required by your zone/region.


Annual dues are $400 USD for one location. Each additional location is $100 USD. The membership dues are payable for each company and all employees of your company would be considered CEDIA members..


Provisional members are non-voting members.


Provisional members cannot use the CEDIA logo.


Provisional members are not listed on the CEDIA Finder Service.

Full Membership Level:



Applicant must have at least one CEDIA Certified Professional on staff.  Passing any of the CEDIA Certification exams qualifies a person as being a CEDIA Certified Professional.


Applicant must submit the names of three (3) manufacturers or distributors who are CEDIA members that will state they have been conducting business with you. A list of these CEDIA members is posted here for your reference.

Must have been in business at least 2 years.



B. Company memberships are extended to Manufacturers of custom electronic equipment, subject to the following conditions:


Applicant must submit the names of three (3) CEDIA member industry company references, i.e. manufacturers, independent sales representative companies or Residential Electronic Systems Professionals.


Manufacturer members are non-voting members.


Annual dues are based on annual revenues in the custom electronics channel. Please see below for divisions and pricing:

The membership dues are payable for each company and all employees of your company would be considered CEDIA members.



C. Company memberships are extended to Affiliates of custom electronic systems, subject to the following conditions:


Any individual or business entity whose endeavors touch on the field of custom electronic design and installation, such as trade magazines and other media, schools, associations, architects and interior designers.


Affiliate members need not directly supply goods or services to this industry.


Affiliate members are non-voting members


Annual dues are $500 USD. The membership dues are payable for each company and all employees of your company would be considered CEDIA members.

 



D. Company memberships are extended to Professional Services of custom electronic systems, subject to the following conditions:


Any individual or business entity whose endeavors touch on the field of custom electronic design and installation, but do not engage in selling products for resale.


Professional Services members are non-voting members.


Professional Services members must submit the names of three (3) member manufacturer references and three (3) member Residential Electronic Systems Professional references.


Annual dues are $300 USD. The membership dues are payable for each company and all employees of your company would be considered CEDIA members.



E. Company memberships are extended to Distributors of custom electronic equipment, subject to the following conditions:


Applicant must submit the names of three (3) CEDIA member industry company references, i.e. manufacturers, independent sales representative companies or Residential Electronic Systems Professionals.


Distributor members are non-voting members.


Annual dues are based on annual revenues in the custom electronics channel. Please see below for divisions and pricing:

F. Company memberships are extended to Sales Representatives of custom electronic systems, subject to the following conditions:


Applicant must submit the names of three (3) CEDIA member company references, i.e. manufacturers, other independent sales representative companies or Residential Electronic Systems Professionals.


Annual dues are $300 USD.


Sales Representative members are non-voting members.

All applicants agree to abide by CEDIA’s Principles of Conduct and Ethics. A processing fee of $100 USD will be assessed if your application is not approved.

By submitting this application for membership in CEDIA, Applicant consents to receive all solicitations from CEDIA and its authorized licensees, via telemarketing, electronic mail and/or facsimile.

The membership committee will only accept complete applications. Upon acceptance of the application, the applicant will be a temporary member pending a review period of up to three months. Applicants whose application is rejected will be so advised and may appeal such rejection to the Board of Directors as provided by the Association’s Bylaws.
