This finalist in the "Integrated Home | Level III" CEDIA® Awards Category features a lot of repurposed hardware from 1906, the year the house was built. (For more on that, see this project’s winning entry in another awards category.) The total integration called for the same level of expertise that was exhibited in that win. Simply put, how does one modernize a 100-plus-year-old house without tearing it apart?

The answer: proceed very, very carefully.

With aesthetics a priority, Sonance invisible speakers were deployed in some of the home’s 22 audio zones. Custom wood conceals the Sony 4K projector in the theater space — which also includes a retro “ticket booth” that actually houses all the gear. Admit One Home Systems has managed to not only integrate tech into an existing home, but integrate that tech into the look and feel of a bygone era.
