PROJECT BUDGET

Key to this integration project was maintain the home’s “edgy, urban look and feel” while providing an intuitive one-platform approach to the systems for a client who was unfamiliar with smart home tech. This installation was tough — the industrial structure made for limited space and options for cabling and keypad installation. The home’s audio systems are all controlled from iPads, making it extremely easy to adjust volume, bass, treble, and EQ in each of the eight independent areas (or "zones").

Video was low on the priority list, and the client only wanted a total of three zones for TVs, including a large LED screen hidden behind a piece of aboriginal artwork that slides away with the touch of a button.

The home’s lighting, fans, heated floors, and towel rails are all integrated into the control and automation system, as are the blinds and deck awnings. Pet-proof security and an exterior Sonance speaker system round out this home’s amenities. The home picked up Finalist honors for Electronic Living in the 2016 CEDIA Awards (Integrated Home, Asia Pacific).
