This structure is home to a big family, and two issues were paramount: The client needed to be able to monitor the house while traveling abroad, and the system needed to be able to handle a group of people constantly coming and going, each with their own music and lighting preferences.
A smart climate system with Crestron controls eliminated the need for on-wall thermostats in the home’s 14 HVAC zones. One button recall for the family’s various lighting preferences controls 186 light sources throught the home. Twenty-nine audio zones ensure that every member of the family can access their preferred tunes somewhere in the house, and eight televisions share seven video sources of content.
Nine cameras (with a nine channel DVR) and an alarm system give the homeowner peace of mind, as does a Teledoor entry system with a Holovision keypad. This project by Vancouver's Graytek was a finalist in the CEDIA® Awards: Integrated Home, Level III.
